Questions with a Chandler: Jen
Meet Jen, our Charleston Workshop Manager. She makes sure your candles are fragrant and your wicks are centered.
1. Tell us about a day in the life of you
My day usually starts with a cup of coffee and The Today Show. Sometimes I throw in a barré class with our GM Emily, or I have breakfast and head to work. No two of my days are ever the same. They're always filled with fun things like helping brides custom design candles for their wedding favors, keeping up with Candlefish production, organizing our workshops, in-store events and maker breaks, teaching specialty classes and of course helping our awesome customers. After work activities may include drinks at The Watch or Ardoa, dinner at Le Farfalle or even a walk over the Ravenel Bridge.
2. Most underrated restaurant in Charleston
Although not underrated, you can always count on Leon's Oyster Shop for some delicious rosé on tap and a side or two of fried brussels sprouts.
3. Go-to Library Fragrance
My favorite library fragrance always has, and always will be No. 70. It's the perfect combination of spicy, woods and vanilla.
No. 70: Notes of Pink Peppercorn, Rosewood and Tonka Bean
4. Most likely to...
Be dancing to oldies in the workshop.
5. Share one thing about being a chandler that's most surprising
How easy it is to memorize 100 different fragrance combinations. You always surprise yourself with how much you know!
6. Best advice you've ever received
An old boss always told me to control the things I could, and deal with those I couldn't.
